Common questions
The straight answers.
- What goes into the setup fee?
- Number provisioning, knowledge base build, voice selection, script tuning, test-call validation, and a live walkthrough of the dashboard. We do this for you — you don't configure it yourself.
- What if I exceed my monthly minutes?
- Overage billing arrives in v1.5. For now, we work with you to right-size your plan if call volume grows. We'd rather move you up a tier than send a surprise bill.
- Are you in the call as a third party?
- Kolekt answers your line as your receptionist would. The disclosure that the call is being recorded and handled by an AI agent is built into the opening of every call, by province (BC and Quebec are two-party-consent jurisdictions; the disclosure handles that).
- Do you offer French?
- Standard French and Quebec French (joual accent) ship in v1.5, with full Bill 96 posture. v1.0 is English-only.
- What's the contract length?
- Monthly. You can cancel any time. We'd rather you stay because Kolekt is paying for itself than because of a contract clause.
- Can I keep my existing number?
- Number porting is on the v2.0 roadmap. For v1.0 + v1.5, we provision a Canadian local number in your area code that customers can call. You forward your existing line to it.
